Dual Degrees and Interdisciplinary Programs - SUNY Buffalo Law School



Dual degree programs gives law students the additional benefit.

Many students of SUNY Buffalo Law simultaneously pursuing his J.D. and Ph.d. or master's degree. There are several benefits you receive. The first is the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the function of law in society by integrating the perspectives of different disciplines. Second, students can count some courses leading to both the program and reduce the total time it takes to obtain both degrees by up to a year.

After law school, matriculation would receive up to nine credit hours of law-related graduate programs in other departments to J.D. departments that participated will calculate the law courses at least 10% of the requirements of the degree program to accelerate learning. Students who wish to pursue a j.d. and Bachelor degree should contact the law school admissions office and any other relevant Department of UB.

Law and Social Work Program (J.D./MSW)

The school of law and School of Social Work offers a dual-degree program in the four years leading to a J.D. and an MSW degree. The program integrates professional social work training and law to prepare students to have a leadership role as a lawyer, social worker or an administrator in Government or human Service agencies.

Program Management and Law (J.D./MBA)

Dual-degree program is the oldest and largest is the J.D./MBA, are offered in conjunction with the school management and law school for students interested in careers in law and business.

Law and Applied Economics Program (J.D./MA)

This program offers advanced skills and expertise to prepare students to have an important role in global economic leadership. The law school and Department of Economics offers accelerated programs leading to a J.D. and master's degree in Applied Economics in 3 1/2 years.

Law and Legal Information Management and Analysis Program (J.D./MLS)

Law school and Department of library and information studies offers a collaborative program in legal information management and analysis leading to a J.D. and master of library science. Students trained in the dual-degree program learn practical legal libraries model.

Law and Doctor of Pharmacy (J.D./Pharm.D.)

The school of law and school of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have designed six-year course of study that allows students to accelerate their studies to receive the J.D. and Pharm. D. degrees. This combination provides the scientific and legal training to Excel in careers in biotechnology, intellectual property, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Law and Urban Planning Programs (J.D./MUP)

The school of law and school of architecture and planning has designed four-year double degree that leads to a j.d. and master's degree in urban planning. Students who complete this program uniquely prepared for the Administration and the public lawyering.

Law and Ph.d. Program

Students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.d. and J.D. will find a supportive environment at SUNY Buffalo Law School. Baldy Center for law and through social policy and the interdisciplinary traditions in law school, students have the ability to merge the universities offer degree program with their students pursuing a JD degree programs combined intensive it will find support among faculty and administration in Baldy Center.
